 Open letter to Howard Dean

Dear Mr. Dean;
I am concerned that the Democratic Party is going to make the same mistake in 2008 that they have been making for decades.
There are always too many candidates bidding for the Presidency in the Primary.
The Republicans don't even have to work hard, all they have to do is sit back and let the Democratic Candidates tear each other apart, digging up dirt on each other and scattering the votes so thin that most of the time we are left with the weakest link for the General Election.
I suspect that they also cross over in the primary and actually vote for the one least likely to beat the Republican. I see this happening in the Congressional, Senate and Governor elections as well.
I am extremely concerned that in 2008 we are going to have at least one if not two women that is going to make a bid for the Presidential election, this will be catastrophic, although I think a woman could and would make a great President, I am among the very low percentage that feels that way, people would not vote for a really strong male candidate that has a woman for a running mate, however, there would be enough that would vote for them to cause our best choice to lose in the Primary election, again leaving us with the weakest link for the General Election.
The next presidential election is one of the most crucial elections in History, I feel if we lose it to the Republicans we will become a third world Country.
I personally feel that a Gore/Edwards or an Edwards/Gore ticket would be the best possible choices
I believe this because Gore won the popular vote in 2000, and Kerry got as many votes as he did because of Edwards, both Edwards and Gore are young, both have dynamic personalities, both are well known, both handle themselves extremely well in debates and both are good speakers.
They have both shown compassion for the less fortunate people of America, I hope all the ones that are thinking about running for President, will exert their energy and finances to run and be elected as Senators, State Representatives, Governor and Congressional offices.
If the Democratic leaders will only embrace this idea, we can again have a free Nation, although it will take a decade to rebuild the damage that has been done by this Administration
Regards
Martha

 God help America

AMERICA HAS PAID ENOUGH, WE HAVE SUFFERED ENOUGH, WE HAVE PAID WITH THE BLOOD OF OUR YOUNG MEN.
AND NOW YOU WANT TO MAKE MORE CUTS TO HURT THE WORKERS THAT ARE SLAVING FOR SMALL WAGES, DISABLED,SENIORS AND STUDENTS THAT ARE TRYING TO GET AN EDUCATION IN SPITE OF BEING FROM IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES.
YOU WANT TO FURTHER CUT AID TO THE FARMERS THAT ARE SUFFERING THROUGH NATURAL DISASTERS TO HELP FEED THIS NATION.
EVERY YEAR FARMERS ARE SELLING THEIR LAND TO GREEDY DEVELOPERS BECAUSE THEY CAN NO LONGER MAKE A LIVING FARMING.
MR. PRESIDENT, JUST WHAT DID THE CONTENT OF YOUR SPEECHES MEAN?
HELP FOR THE IMPOVERISHED, WHERE?
HELP FOR THE FARMERS, WHERE?
TO SEE THAT EVERY CHILD HAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET A BETTER EDUCATION, HOW? BY CUTTING THEIR GRANTS?
LESSENING CRIME, HOW BY CUTTING LOW COST HOUSING?
IMPROVING MEDICAL CARE, BY CUTTING MEDICAID?
PEOPLE MAY HAVE BELIEVED YOU THEN BUT THEY NOW RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT YOUR SPEECHES WAS ONLY A PLOY TO GET RE-ELECTED.
YOU HAVE PROVEN TO AMERICA THAT YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF KEEPING YOUR PROMISE TO AMERICA.
MAY GOD HELP AMERICA

 Re run of previous elections?

I am seeing the same thing coming that has been there for a decade, too many candidates for every election, when this happens the Republicans prey on the weakest Democratic link, they support them in the Primaries, and just sit back and enjoy the slanderous attacks the Democrats make on each other.
The very possibility of a woman running as a Presidential candidate, or as a running mate in 2008 will probably result in another loss to the Republican party.
I don't mean to sound chauvinistic, but if you did a poll and got accurate counts of the voters you will see that America will not support a woman for President or Vice President.
Candidates running with an undesirable running mate (Gore /Libberman) I voted for Gore but was disgusted that he chose Libberman as his running mate.
Last election Kerry was not the one for a front runner, the fact that he was a distant cousin of Bush was enough, then the fact that his wife was/is affiliated to The Carlyle Group, He was not a good speaker, did not have a good personality, and has not proven to be the kind of person I would want to run our Country.
If I had a choice for 2008 I would want a Gore/Edwards ticket or a Edwards/Gore ticket
I will not however, vote for a potential loser in the General election, I will show my retaliation by voting for an independent first,I am fed up with our lack of leadership by the Democratic party, they should be the ones addressing these issues.
Another concern I have is that the Democratic Party no longer embraces the low income voters, they will make phone calls and tell you that they do not accept donations of less than $25.00, sorry if this is their policy I don't belong in their crowd, I can't afford to donate that much on a fixed income.
The Party needs an overhaul, bring it back to the old standards of representing the less fortunate American population Leave the wealthy to the Republicans..
I have tried to contact Mr. Dean but my letters have gone unanswered, I have contacted the Democratic Headquarters in Alabama and have been promised literature but three years later have not received it, I have sent out e-mails and they have gone unanswered, I feel that the Democratic Party has fallen into the same dark cloud of rich and greedy that the Republicans are so proudly embracing.
I hope this is read and I will get a personal response, not a thank you for writing, form letter.

 Would you vote for Jesus

As I sit here, thinking about the turn of events that have occured since the election of 2000, I feel a deep ache in my heart for what our beloved Country has become.
I remember a time when people looked at elections as a special event, they would gather and talk about the canidates and discuss them as if they were neighbors, and many were.
I remember when people looked at what a canidates qualifications was as a leader, rather than what his church affiliation was.
People back then, had a very deep faith, and trusted God to be the leader of their church affiliation, and they trusted their elected officials to be the leaders of their Nation.
They didn't combine the two together because they trusted God to protect them from evil.
Now the people have combined religion and Government into a confusing and demeaning body that is filled with deception that is destroying both their faith in the Churches and their Government.
As long as someone professes to be a Christian they look no further, he has their vote. Never mind if he has lied about his past, after all "he" said he was a born again Christian.
I have heard church goers remark, "why Brother so and so preached his sermon on Mr. **** and we just have to get him elected, he is going to reform this Nation". " Pardon me but I thought that our faith in God was supposed to do that"
I heard it in 2000 and again in 2004.
Sadly the Bible teachings has become lost to the greed of those that will bend its true meaning to meet the selfish wants of the ones that use religion to gain wealth and power.
If Jesus had ran for President in 2000 or 2004 do you think he would have been elected?
I don't. He would have been considered a Left Wing Liberal.
After all he was one that taught his people to give their wealth to the poor, I doubt if the voters would appreciate a canidate that was campaigning on such a platform.
I wonder- What would Jesus have done about Iraq?
Would he be in favor of cutting taxes on the Rich?
Wonder how he would feel about our welfare reform?
Wonder if he would want the poor to stay poor?
Before you vote for the next President, ask yourself, " do you really want a candidate that really believes in the Bible to get elected"?
Or do you want a man that claims he talks to God?
If you are a Christian and believe in the Bible, just ask yourself "what would Jesus do"?
